Software Developer

Energy Management Corporation (EMC) is a 32 year old, 75 employee company, headquartered in Salt Lake City which specializes in providing solutions to our customer’s most challenging electrical equipment needs with a vision to evolve the electrical environment to maximum safety, reliability and energy efficiency.

EMC is offering a ground level opportunity to join our team to develop an in-house ERP solution for our growing electrical solutions business based on further custom development of existing open source web based software. Our management team is nearing the final selection of a web based open source platform such as Adempiere ERP and will rely heavily on an experienced software engineer with strong programming skills and relational database implementation ability. Candidates should possess the necessary discipline and communication skills to be able to work closely with executive management to convert our business intelligence to a scalable, internet based ERP system enabling best-in-class customer service and additional branch office growth.

Corporate Sales Representative (Salt Lake City/Boise)

Office sales positions are available in Salt Lake City and Boise for service out of Energy Management Corporation's Salt Lake City office. These positions would primarily represent our custom VFD and motor control systems as well as other commercial and industrial electrical products and services.

The position requires exceptional sales skills including strategic account planning and relationship development. Applicants should have experience calling on consulting engineers, and commercial and industrial customers in specifying, selling and applying VFD systems and related power quality equipment.

The successful individuals must be able to be proactive in developing new accounts in an assigned geographical territory. All activities and opportunities must be documented through coordination with the SLC inside support group using EMC's CRM database. The outside sales representative is responsible to initiate follow-up actions to convert opportunities into sales. Prior experience and sales success in the electrical industry is required.

Compensation is based on salary plus a generous commission program.

Outside Sales

Energy Management Corporation (EMC), with headquarters located in Salt Lake City has an opening for an outside sales position. We are a 30-year-old and growing industrial automation company that sells and services electrical motors, drives, and generators. We are looking for an innovative, high-energy, self-motivated, honest, and hardworking individual.

Summary:
Sells products for manufacturer or distributor to business and industrial establishments or individuals at sales office, store, showroom, or customer's place of business by performing the following duties.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities include the following. Other duties may be assigned.

  • Compiles lists of prospective customers for use as sales leads, based on information from newspapers, business directories, industry ads, trade shows, internet Web sites, and other sources.
  • Maintains a positive, productive, and profitable customer base to include adding new customers, maturing existing customer or replacing non-profitable, problematic customers.
  • Travels throughout assigned territory, and as directed by management, call on existing and prospective customers to solicit orders and future business, or talks with customers on sales floor or by phone.
  • Build a strong relationship with the customers. Relationships are related to the quality of the sales call and your sales strategy.
  • Have a goal of 30 calls per week to contact potential customers and to stay in touch with previous customers.
  • Expectation of 20% new prospects every month from calling and contacting customers.
  • Have ten target accounts working at a time. identify accounts that are very lucrative, which are usually school districts, colleges and universities, engineering consultants, Original Equipment Manufacturers, users, and municipalities.
  • Must enter new customer data and other sales data for current customers into computer database , Sugar CRM, in real time.
  • Study products we represent on own time and attend trainings provided by EMC.
  • Accountable for sales volume.
  • Displays or demonstrates product, its capabilities, and using samples or catalog, emphasizes salable features.
  • Quotes prices and credit terms and prepares sales contracts for orders obtained.
  • Estimates date of delivery to customer, based on knowledge of own firm's production and delivery schedules.
  • Prepares reports of business transactions and keeps expense accounts and manages territory profitability.
  • Works with inside sales representatives to keep account activities and literature up to date.
  • investigates and resolves customer problems with deliveries, unpaid invoices, pickup and deliver of product to customers.
  • Coordinates service calls and startups with the service technicians.
  • Maintains company vehicle, ensure proper maintenance is scheduled on a routine basis.
  • Required to attend weekly sales meetings, keep supervisor apprised of all sales.

    VFD Technician

    Duties and skills expected of the VFD technician include:

  • Plan and coordinate activities concerned with installing equipment, investigating and resolving customer reports of technical problems with equipment, and eliminating future operational or service difficulties by performing the following duties.
  • Applicants will have strong electrical or electronic background, able to read schematics, mechanically inclined, self-motivated, and computer literate.
  • VFD knowledge, logic control experience, and component level troubleshooting experience preferred.
  • Provides on-site technical assistance to help troubleshoot and repair equipment.
  • Answer technical questions and provide high level of support for the sales department.
  • Provide quotations for customers on the repair job.
  • interact with customers over phone to provide answers to technical questions.
  • Keep workspace clean and organized.
  • installs new or modified drives at customer's facility to ensure full functionality according to specifications.
  • Reviews performance reports and documentation from customers and field representatives, and inspects malfunctioning or damaged product to determine nature and scope of problem.
  • Analyzes review and inspection findings to determine source of problem, and recommends repair, replacement, or other corrective action.
  • Coordinates problem resolution with engineering, customer service, and other personnel to expedite repairs.
  • Develops and conducts training on the safe operations of the equipment and demonstrates skills to trainees, including both team members and customers.
  • Any other duties that may be assigned.
